Water is very essential for our health. Always test your hydration to avoid dehydration. When you urinate, try to look at your urine. Its colour should be clear to light straw colour. You will know that you are dehydrated when the urine is dark yellow. But you have to take note of drugs, supplements, and other medicines you take in. One example is with vitamin B supplements. The pigments in these supplements will likely turn the urine into neon yellow colour but this does not mean that you are dehydrated. To keep yourself hydrated, you need to drink 8 big glasses of water every day. This is not the standard required amount for everyone but it serves as a good reference to start. You need more water if you are on the heavy side.

After taking the diuretics like coffee or alcohol, always make sure to drink twice the amount of pure water.
